General Position Summary: Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, and building and platform parts by performing the following duties. Essential Duties andResponsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned) Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding. Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment. Assembles parts by bolting and riveting. Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts. Immediately report all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to their Supervisor. MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Normal office environment Heavy physical effort required including pulling and lifting or moving heavy weight material with frequent lifting and/or moving of materials or equipment (over 50 pounds). Requires the ability to continuously work around any or all of the following: noise, dust, heat, cold, solvents, fumes and heavy equipment Requires working in outdoor weather conditions Requires constant standing, sitting, bending, crouching, walking, pulling, pushing, reaching, kneeling Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and/or evenings as necessary (based on project demands) Requires frequently working in confined spaces.
