IT/OT Manufacturing Site Lead

GAF Energy is transforming the rooftop solar industry to generate “Energy from Every Roof”. As a Standard Industries company, GAF Energy works in partnership with North America’s largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturer, GAF, offering homeowners elegant, roof-integrated solar options. The company also provides commercial tax equity funding for rooftop solar projects.

GAF Energy is opening its first high-volume manufacturing site in Georgetown, TX, planned to start production in late 2023. What part will you play?

• The GAF Energy Manufacturing organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced IT/OT Site Lead, who will be the subject matter expert in our Manufacturing Operating/Information Technology systems and architecture.
• With outstanding manufacturing and IT experience, s/he will be a critical leader in the overall OT architecture and processes- including delivery and maintenance of our MES and Warehouse management system, and the interfacing of these systems with the PLM (Arena) and ERP (People-soft).
• The ideal candidate will have a talent for driving results and thrive in the space between startup and explosive growth.
• This role will report to the Senior Director, Manufacturing Operations.

What will you do?

• Become the subject matter expert on the system architecture and functionalities of the MES and WMS systems, and integrations with the PLM, ERP, and factory hardware
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to finalize the MES vendor selection and drive the implementation plan
• Drive the integration of MES, WMS, PLM, ERP, and quality systems to meet business needs in accordance to manufacturing business needs, corporate standards, and cyber security best practices
• Be the on-site point of contact and own the efficiency and functionalities of the MES and WMS, working directly with vendors to troubleshoot issues related to production hardware, data availability/reporting/business intelligence, etc.
• Be the on-site supporting point of contact for any integration/interfacing issued between the MES/WMS and the PLM, ERP, and quality systems
• Manage a small team of IT technicians and collaborate with cross functional business groups to troubleshoot any desktop services issues (laptops, conferencing systems (Google Meet), servers/switches, AV, badge reading system, etc.)
• Collaborate with quality, logistics, production, and the training manager to create process SOPs on how to best use MES and WMS, create material and conduct training sessions
• Build collaborative and effective working relationships with factory leadership, Supply Chain, R&D and Finance organizations to deliver accurate reporting and necessary business intelligence
• Continue to analyze, improve, and deploy the Manufacturing IT/OT ecosystem, especially to implement at future factories
• Foster an environment which looks for opportunities to improve business processes such that they truly add value

What do we require from you?

• BS in a technical field (Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent) and 7 years of work experience in manufacturing IT/OT
• Minimum 3 years work experience supporting manufacturing line and/or factory bring up for a discrete production process involving electronic components and subassemblies
• Experience in personally delivering large scale and highly complex initiatives under pressure
• Comfort with navigation across diverse opinions to drive towards consensus
• Skilled in managing at both detailed and strategic levels
• Ability to take ambiguity in problem definition and drive towards clarity
• Resiliency and ability to adapt to a fast pace, often with dynamic priorities
