Regional Maintenance Technician

Position: Regional Maintenance Technician

We seek a Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated team to perform general maintenance for a traditional office building, one small multi-family community, and two residential homes while delivering excellent customer service.   

Locations:
Gaines Investment Trust
La Jolla, CA 92037   

Village Park Apartments (115 units)
Encinitas, CA 92024   

Competitive compensation based on experience: $26 - $30 per hour   

What You Will Do:   

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks.
• Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure building systems and equipment's longevity and operational efficiency.
• Complete work orders and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with managers to prioritize and address maintenance requests.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service and communication to residents and team members.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors for larger repair projects as needed.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance emergencies.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of pools, common areas, and grounds.
• Collaborate with teams/vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and projects.

What You Will Bring:   

• Previous experience (3 years) in apartment/building maintenance or a similar role preferred.
• Currently resides within the San Diego, CA area.
• Proficient in basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Basic computer skills for recording and tracking maintenance activities.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy objects, climb stairs, and perform manual labor.
• Strong work ethic
• Valid driver's license, tools, and reliable transportation.
