Overview

The Industry Marketing Manager is an industry vertical focused marketing role, with a specific focus on key growth industries at GB, including Healthcare, Construction, Transportation, and other industries. This role will drive strategic marketing programs supporting the awareness, perception, solutions-oriented communications, and sales efforts for key industries.

 

The Industry Marketing Manager will work directly with the Industry Practice Leaders, GB Specialty leadership, GB Sales Leadership, GB Marketing, and other leaders across the business to deliver strategic marketing programs and thought leadership content about GB’s expertise and solutions.

 

The key priorities in the first 30-60 days for the Industry Marketing Manager will be to dive into existing GB content and resources in the Healthcare and Construction space as the first two key industries.  They’ll work to establish relationships with practice leaders and immerse themselves in the marketing program development process. The goal is to ensure GB’s thought leadership content demonstrates our expertise, value proposition, and positioning within the healthcare and construction industries as a unified set of GB solutions. 

 

As the main content developer for key GB industries, the Industry Marketing Manager will collaborate with subject matter experts, develop and champion content targeted to these industries across all owned, earned and paid channels to drive lead generation and cross-solving efforts. From speaking engagements to whitepapers to webinars to press releases, the Industry Marketing Manager will deliver the content to power external marketing and promotional programs, provide internal stakeholder access and guidance on how to use the content and ensure alignment with the GB brand.


Responsibilities

  • Ownership of industry thought leadership content development process across GB, inclusive of all marketing messaging/collateral/assets, an editorial calendar, media pitches, earned media opportunities, and social media executions
  • Collaboration on value proposition and positioning for Healthcare and Construction (as the first two key industries) Industry Practices and solutions specific to each industry as the foundation for all marketing messaging/collateral/assets
  • Development and management of lead generation programs in collaboration with GB North America Marketing team
  • Partnering with Sales and Practice Leaders on building collateral and tools to assist in internal communications and education across GB, not by division or business unit
  • Using industry content and marketing programs to fill white space and cross-solve with Gallagher Global Brokerage (Risk Management & Commercial Insurance division) 
  • Competitive analysis
  • Deliver, in partnership with research support, fact-based analysis of market trends; competitive data; technology advancements; and customer needs assessments, working in conjunction with the Practice leaders
  • Work closely with the Sales organization, enabling them to meet commercial objectives by providing the appropriate support, collateral, tools, RFP responses, and presentations that will distinguish GB as the premier provider of risk and claims management services for the healthcare and construction industries.
  • Partner with ART department to develop copy for key industry marketing communications deliverables including email and web content, press releases, white papers/case studies, newsletters, brochures, RFP content and other materials as needed
  • Contribute to planning and attending appropriate tradeshows and conferences
  • Champion GB’s industry capabilities and insights where applicable in core thought leadership content
  • Develop a strategic marketing plan to position Gallagher Bassett as the authority in the Healthcare and Construction industries, initially, and other industries, later.
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency of corporate standards for all product marketing assets

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing communications or similar field and 7 years related experience.

Preferred:

  • Extensive experience in Healthcare, Construction, and/or Transportation industries.
  • Experience in the insurance, claims, and/or risk management industries
  • Experience in a B2B environment that involves multiple buyers
  • Excellent, customer-centric oral and written communication skills, with an emphasis on grammar, copywriting, and proofreading
  • Strong technical skills across Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite applications

Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent writing skills, both technical and narrative
  • Strong communication skills collaborating with subject matter authorities to produce content
  • Experience developing and handling project plans and editorial calendars including speaking submissions, speaking engagements and content releases 
  • Creative mind with a strong design aesthetic
  • Experience collecting details on market dynamics, client needs and technology, and using this knowledge to create compelling content that highlights the value of a service offering
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to adjust quickly when business dynamics or requirements shift
