This exciting leadership opportunity for senior level digital delivery professional encompasses all facets of digital delivery management, team leadership, technical project and client management. This successful leader must have digital, technical & PMO domain expertise and excellent communication skills that allow for cultivating confidence and trust with business partners. This position will be reporting to our SVP of Digital Development.

In this role, you will help to build and grow a large Digital organization of Software Engineers.  You will work very closely with our SVP of Digital Development and provide expertise and thought leadership to a team of Software Engineers responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining client-facing applications for all of Gallagher’s business units.

Ideally, you are a technologist at your core and an experienced people manager who has led large SW Engineering organizations who also possesses depth in Systems Engineering, DevOps, Agile Scrum, and has passion for developing leading edge customer-centric, digital applications. You should be equally comfortable interacting with technical audiences and business leadership. 

Responsibilities include:

• Lead the education and development of Product development methodology across the Divisions including tools, processes, team structures, best practices
• Establishing an AJG-wide Agile WoW method scalable to meet demand coming from Divisions and promoting it within AJG
• Develop strategic technology plans to provide continuous product releases by facilitating the Delivery teams with an SDLC environment fitting the Agile method of choice, business needs and non-functional requirements aimed at reaching autonomy for the Delivery teams, leveraging SecDevOps CI/CD pipeline and release standards.
• Product development ownership for many products across AJG Divisions including Drive, SmartMarket, Client Portal, Submit, etc. across the various Teams inside Digital Delivery
• Delivery responsibility for speed to market of new capabilities that differentiate Gallagher against competition
• Participate in the development and implementation of a digital technology strategy for Gallagher.
• Partner with the SVP, Digital Development to implement and enforce industry standard Agile engineering practices including but not limited to branching strategies, automated unit testing coverage, code review processes, coding standards, etc.
• Participant in the AJG System Architecture Review Board (SARB) and FinTech Review Board processes
• Embrace and enforce modern application architecture strategies and work through existing applications silos to build engaging digital experiences.
• Partner with the Enterprise Architecture team in evaluating and standardizing the Digital technology stack and establishing design patterns.
• Encourage innovation, implementation of emerging technologies, creative thinking, collaboration, teamwork and work within and across IT teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions.
• Partner with the Divisions in the development of digital strategies including initiatives, UX, back-end integrations while establishing a common approach on the Front End solutions
• Work closely with IT shared services and Business leaders to deliver technology solutions.
• Global remit across Americas, EMEA, and ANZ
• Provide digital updates to senior IT leadership
• Lead, manage and grow a team of software engineers
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and expertise.
• Responsible for resource allocation and managing activities of managers and/or individual contributors.
