Managing Director

Gallery MAR is seeing a full-time Director to begin Spring 2024. The applicant will have experience in luxury sales, and management experience, with an interest in fine art.

Responsibilities

• Work in the gallery as head of sales.
• Manage the organization and scheduling of gallery exhibitions and programs, client and gallery installations as well as other special projects as needed.
• Coordinate actions with the gallery team, artists and vendors as required for all exhibitions, events, productions etc.
• Manage shipping logistics, receiving, estimates, and insurance requests for gallery, clients and vendors.
• Oversee the care and quality of all gallery inventory as well as the condition of space to maintain an organized, happy and well-functioning environment.
• Manage and update gallery inventory including gallery database as well as third party websites.
• Liaise with the gallery team to ensure smooth operations and assist the sales team with coordinating requests.
• Create purchase orders and manage the production process with the gallery team and artists.
• Manage vendors, phones/utilities, IT, and ordering of supplies.
• Manage bookkeeping, artist payments, and payroll.

Qualifications for the role

– A long-term interest in developing a career within the field of Fine Art.

– 2–3 years of experience in luxury sales.

– Excellent communication and written skills are required.

– Professionalism and discretion is a must.

– Proactive planning ability combined with keen attention to detail.

– Possess excellent time management and organizational skills.

-Knowledge of the contemporary art market.

-Experience using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and WordPress, Microsoft Office Products, Quickbooks, Photoshop, Zoom

-Written, verbal and interpersonal communication and decision-making skills.

-The position schedule includes nights and weekends.
