Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees and maintains current inventory.
- Researches, analyzes and forecasts current and future buying trends, markets, styles and products with attention to specified target market and demographics.
- Provides cost-effective purchases by negotiating prices with supplies.
- Identifies the organization’s purchasing needs.
- Researching, selecting and purchasing quality products and materials.
- Creates and maintains relationships with suppliers and establishing new contracts with vendors.
- Ensures optimum availability of materials, goods and services by analyzing trends.
- Experience in preparing reports.
- Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
- Maintain and update product inventory for consumer satisfaction.
- Looks for fresh suppliers by choosing suppliers based on their strategic value to the business.
- Monitors purchase orders.
- Performs extensive research and the ability to negotiate.
- Completes research on possible item selections.
- Communicates with the management team.
- Ability to participate as a team member to improve processes to satisfy department goals.
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Purchasing and inventory management skills.
- Organized work habits and the ability to multi-task is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Efficient typing skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and legal aspects of purchasing.
- Ability to compile information and make educated decisions.
