As a Mid-Level Software Engineer at GALT Aerospace, you will contribute to meaningful projects in the aerospace sector. Job Location

Onsite/Hybrid, San Diego - This position allows a hybrid work structure, under which employees can work remotely for up to 2 days per week, between Tuesday and Thursday, after completing a probationary period and based on demands of specific tasks. Working from the office is encouraged for some tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to full-cycle software development, from architecture design to deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration into our Systems-of-Systems
• Contribute to the development and refinement of internal software processes and standards
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, providing guidance and support in their professional development
• Manage project segments, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards
• Contribute to software processes and standards, leading to strategic decisions
• Provide support at customer sites and participate in test and evaluation activities

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related STEM field
• 5 years of full stack software development experience
• Proficiency in front-end frameworks (e.g., Vue.js) and current JavaScript standards (e.g., ES2021)
• Experience with databases (e.g., Redis)
• Experience with data structures
• Experience in build systems (e.g., Pants, Bazel)
• Experience with package management tools (e.g., pip, npm)
• Experience with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery concepts
• Strong experience with Python or other programming languages
• Proficiency in developing API interfaces
• Proficiency in Git for configuration management and version control
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Networking experience
• Expertise in designing software systems
• Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible)
• Experience with geospatial frameworks
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and standards
• Experience in DevOps methodologies and practices
• Advanced STEM degree or active DoD clearance

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit or stand for 1 hour at a time
• Must be able to operate a computer

At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $100,000-$140,000, and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
