Forklift Operator/Laborer
Description
The Forklift Operator General Labor positions are responsible for the preparation and/or finishing of all products being galvanized.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect and identify worn or damaged production fixtures, chains, and hooks and facilitating proper repair or discarding irreparable items
- Hand wiring parts to racks for pickling and galvanizing
- Wrapping chains and ropes around steel bundles
- Lift and move steel parts by hand to relocate them, hang them for galvanizing or remove them from fixtures for finishing
- Remove excess zinc and/or ash from steel after it is galvanized
- Use power tools to help prepare steel for pickling or galvanizing as well as finish products
- Conduct ongoing safety inspections
- Housekeeping of area worked in and surrounding areas as assigned
- Inspect material for proper preparation and quality
- Work hours assigned including overtime as required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a production environment
- Good time management and proven multi-tasking skills
- Ability to be self-sufficient and self-motivated
- Demonstrates initiative, sense of urgency and is self-motivated when addressing work tasks
- Team oriented

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet conditions, extreme heat, fumes and airborne particles, toxic and caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to move throughout the facility including on uneven terrain. Employee will operate equipment such as overhead cranes, robots, and forklift as well as position self to inspect equipment and ascend/descend to view equipment. Duties also require continuously moving items up to 50lbs.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
