SUMMARY
The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating all functions associated with distribution center product movement. He or she will be expected to maximize profits by performing duties personally or through subordinates, analyzing current process performance and providing leadership to ensure the department achieves its goals and objectives. The Supervisor interacts with Management several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
• Lead, monitor and direct the daily activities of a specific area in the Distribution Center. Provide guidance and support to Leads and Associates.
• Supervise 2 – 3 non-exempt Leads and 15 – 30 non-exempt team members in the day-to-day operations of the distribution center.
• Define and improve processes, standards, and guidelines. Ensure all area associates adhere to documented processes.
• Direct, coordinate, and evaluate assigned work area or shift and its employees to meet productivity and quality requirements.
• Build and maintain a work environment that is positive and is supported by open feedback and two-way communication.
• Communicate all issues to management that could result in process delays, safety issues, or otherwise cause a loss to the company or its associates.
• Prepare daily reports that measure the efficiency and productivity of team members, departments and/or shift.
• In conjunction with management’s guidance, support team members' performance through training, coaching, and corrective action as needed.
• Consistent with the general nature of this role, work collaboratively with others throughout the Refurbishment and Distribution Centers to achieve or exceed department objectives.
• Follow all known safety procedures and utilize good operational, loss prevention and safety judgment at all times.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be at least 18 years of age and present state-required proof of age documents
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required — Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• At least two years of work experience in a distribution center environment required - 3 to 5 years in a Supervisor role preferred
• Ability to lift and/or move boxes, totes and other objects weighing up to 50 pounds on an infrequent, as needed basis
• Ability to bend, stoop, climb on ladders, and drag wooden pallets weighing up to 60 pounds on an infrequent, as needed basis
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
• Working understanding of basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Working knowledge of common business computer systems and applications — specifically, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English — bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred
• Possess the dexterity to utilize writing utensils (pen/pencil), calculators, small hand-held tools, manual razors and other mechanical/electrical equipment without assistance
• Ability to prepare, comprehend, and translate detailed budgets, reports, and financial information in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work under demanding time constraints and production goals
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
• Possess the learning capacity to receive and apply cross-functional training; willingness to assist other functions and work groups as needed so the department achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives
