What are the responsibilities and job description for the Penetration Tester position at GaN?
Overview
GaN has an immediate need for penetration testers to support U.S. Army acquisition community cybersecurity requirements. The job will include penetration testing of Army weapon systems to include vehicles, biometric systems, software defined radios and SATCOM.
To be a part of this team, you must be self-motivated and self-directed to work independently, but also be open and communicative to work as a team to exceed all Geeks and Nerds and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
GaN has an immediate need for penetration testers to plan, execute and report on penetration tests of military systems. GaN’s cybersecurity team will work with Department of Defense organizations during early phases of weapon system development to help build-in cybersecurity and to test early and often in the weapon system development process. While traveling to perform testing will be required the vast majority of this work will be performed from GaN’s headquarters.
- Work within a team of cybersecurity professionals working with the Department of Defense
- Assess systems under development and communicate potential vulnerabilities and provide mitigation recommendations
- Support the development of cybersecurity test plans
- Support development of test and assessment reports
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Penetration testing is the primary required skill for this job.
- 5 years’ experience in cybersecurity work, preferable penetration testing.
- Position and pay adjusted for added experience.
- Experience with cyber penetration test tools us as Kali Linux
- Expertise leading and assisting the customers in the execution of tests and evaluations on weapons system
- Familiarity with cyber relevant policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professional demeanor at all times
Desired Skills:
- OSCP is highly desired
- BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technical field. Position and pay adjusted for post-graduate degrees.
- Possess multiple DoD 8570 IA certifications such as CEH, ISSAP, ISSEP, ISSMP, SSCP, GCIA, GCED, GCFA, GCLC, GCIH, GSIH, LPT
- Military or Civilian Experience with weapon system test and evaluations
- Military or Civilian Experience in Cyberspace Operations (DoDIN, DCO, and/or OCO) or Information Operations related to Cyberspace
- Expertise as a lead evaluator for cyber vulnerability assessments
- Ability to develop and execute strategic business plans
Special Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be willing to travel; travel will not be extensive
- Must possess a Secret Security Clearance, and be eligible for Top Secret/SCI
