    POSITION TITLE: Inventory – Parts Clerk


    BASIC FUNCTION:

    Under the direction of the inventory control manager, plant manager and/or designee, the Inventory Parts Associate will perform duties in support of the process of shipping and receiving inventory. The associate will also support manufacturing activities by providing service to the shop/production floor.

    The Inventory Parts Associate will perform these functions in safe and efficient manner. At times, the Inventory Parts Associate will be responsible for assisting multiple departments with routine inventory/inventory control functions.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Understands and demonstrates commitment to the mission of GapVax, Inc. through daily communication, cooperation, and attention to detail of work performed.

    Responsible for shipping and receiving inventory and parts that are to be used for the production of GapVax manufactured products. The Inventory–Parts Associate will also issue materials to the production floor.


    Inventory Control & Product Understanding

    • Load and unload motor freight
    • Issue material to production floor; pull baskets for body and chassis phase
    • Assembly of parts
    • Receive deliveries and verifies accuracy of packing slip against the materials contained in the shipment
    • Rotate inventory and stock shelves
    • Pack and prepare shipments
    • Prepare and process documentation for UPS shipments
    • Pick up and deliver parts to/from local vendors
    • Participate in and/or coordinate counting and reconciliation of inventory
    • Accurately and effectively maintain cycle counts and year-end inventory
    • Report suspected inventory discrepancies to supervisor in order to prevent shrinkage

    Cooperation

    • Work with manufacturing team, parts sales, and inventory control departments as needed
    • Complete tasks in a timely manner
    • Work with coworker and customers as needed
    • Ability to complete other jobs such as cleaning the parts area and delivering materials to other departments as needed

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. High school diploma or GED

    2. Must be able to read, write, and follow written instruction

    3. Must have high standards of quality and pride in work

    4. Must have basic computer skills

    5. Ability to learn the operation of all types of trucks and accessories

    6. Able to solve problems and think analytically

    7. Ability to learn the basic understanding of industrial vacuum equipment

    8. Strong organizational skills

    9. Must be able to work effectively independently and with others


    SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    1. Ability to use standard office equipment, including computer, telephone system, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, postage machine, etc.

    2. Operate forklift, hand truck, and other warehouse equipment.

    3. Ability to interact in a positive manner with customers, vendors, and plant personnel.

    4. Understand verbal and written instructions

    5. Use ladder/scaffold and work from moderate heights

    6. Physical abilities (*denotes essential physical ability requirement)
