Join our dynamic team at Garden Savings Federal Credit Union’s branch in Parsippany! We are seeking a financial professional to join the accounting team as Controller. Responsible for managing the Credit Union’s accounting department and activities including accounts payable (A/P), Investment Portfolio Accounting, General Ledger functions, preparation of regular and periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and controls and budget compliance.

Essential Functions:

• Supervise and develop the accounting team; provide feedback, perform evaluations, and coaching.
• Oversee accounts payable functions, approve invoices, and produce 1099 forms.
• Investment Portfolio Accounting
• Manage general ledger function, review and approve journal entries.
• Reconciliations
• Update Monthly Ncino’ Loan MDPA and CECL modules.
• Leads the preparation of financial Statements and Treasurer’s Report
• Run ProfitStar ALM Model and prepare quarterly ALM reporting package.
• Oversee Quarterly Call Report
• Ensure timely payment of Federal Withholding and file annual Form-945.
• Development, implementation, and continuous improvement of efficient and effective polices, procedures, and practices.
• Acts as liaison with external auditors.
• Manage the internal audit function and determine opportunities to strengthen internal controls.
• Assist CFO in annual budget and strategic plans completion.

Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred. CPA is a plus.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience. Credit union experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, ability to foster a positive and fair environment with teamwork and collaboration.
• Detail oriented with an ability to multi-task while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
• Completes task with a sense of urgency to meet all deadlines.
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft environment and all job-related software programs.
• Maintaining a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and a strong work ethic is required.
