Position Summary
The Dietary Aide performs a number of kitchen activities including, but not limited to, dish washing, general cleaning duties, daily meal service, assisting other dietary positions with meal preparation and storing food and non-food supplies.
Essential Job Duties

Wash dishes, utensils, and pots and operates dish washing equipment. Use all cleaning chemicals and materials as prescribed and handle in a safe manner.
- Distribute and store clean pots, dishes and utensils.

Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures and standard precautions of safety.

Taking and delivering food and beverage orders.

Ensuring resident satisfaction.

Ensuring that quality standards and service are being delivered.

Deliver meals to residents unable to dine in the dining room.

Maintain assigned work station in a safe and sanitary condition.

Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.

Follow safety regulations; report injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the supervisor.

May assist with basic kitchen preparations and/or serving.

Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors promoting a homelike environment.

Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor for the benefit of the residents.

Experience and Skills:
Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is preferred.
- Must meet all healthcare requirements, including Tuberculosis skin test

Must be in positive standing with all healthcare agencies, including the Direct Services Workers Registry.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
This position is very active and requires constant standing/walking and repetitive motions, frequent bending/stooping, reaching, lifting/handling, pushing/pulling and occasional carrying. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and the frequency of treatments may vary.
