What is an Audiology "Lab tech"? Similar to a “MA” or Medical Assistant, a Lab Tech is a trained team member within our practice. Lab techs are vital to the success of an Audiology practice, as they work closely with the doctors to ensure the highest level of quality patient care.
Is this position right for you? Lab Tech Assistants must be comfortable performing a variety of duties quickly while paying attention to details and providing the best customer service. They must be willing to work collaboratively with their doctor(s) and their team. They must be able to speak clearly and enunciate. They must be comfortable working under deadlines and staying organized.
Our practice will provide the training and all other costs associated with earning this license. Prior experience in an Audiology practice preferred, but not required.
Education Required: High school diploma (or equivalent)
Salary: We believe in rewarding our staff for a job well done. Your starting salary will depend on your prior experience in the hearing care industry or medical office environment. Lab Techs are given an hourly rate of pay, but are also able to earn quarterly commissions on things patients would be paying for anyway. You are not a salesperson, and do not have to meet any sales quotas. After your first 90 days, you will have a professional development meeting. If you’re meeting or exceeding your professional benchmarks, you’ll be eligible for another raise at that time. How high you climb is completely up to you. We believe your gifts will always make room for you.
Lab Techs meeting or exceeding job expectations will have an opportunity to train for an Audiology Assistant state license.
