Job Description:
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Hydrovac Operator Assistant to join our team. This critical role involves providing essential support to the Hydrovac Operator in operating the on-board hydro-vacuum system and maintaining the equipment. The primary focus is on safety, efficiency, and effective communication with team members and customers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Hydrovac Operation Support: Collaborate with the Hydrovac Operator to efficiently operate the on-board hydro-vacuum system outside the truck. This may include excavation, vacuuming, and other related tasks.
- Additional Hydrovac Duties: Engage in various hydrovac-related tasks such as tank entry, cleaning, equipment mobilization, routine truck maintenance, and active participation in safety meetings.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and compliant records by documenting all company and customer paperwork as required by law and established policy. Ensure clarity and legibility in all documentation.
- Customer Interaction: Professionally interact with on-site customer representatives to identify the least intrusive and safest locations for parking company equipment during job assignments.
- Leadership: Demonstrate leadership skills by directing subordinate personnel to execute duties and tasks safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Equipment Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot equipment issues and, as necessary, perform minor repairs to ensure optimal functionality.
Essential Physical Functions/Requirements:
- Alertness: Maintain the ability to hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty.
- Physical Agility: Perform physical tasks including sitting, lifting, stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and crawling. Lift a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Outdoor Work: Adapt to working in various outdoor conditions for extended periods.
- Confined Space: Be prepared for confined space entry if required to complete tasks for certain clients.
- Safety Gear: Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job.
- Elevated Work: Climb ladders and work from stationary platforms at elevated heights when necessary.
- Flexibility: Be available to work extended hours and variable shifts to accommodate client schedules, including irregular hours.
Requirements:
- Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- A minimum of 1-year experience in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred.
- Willingness to undergo initial drug/alcohol testing and random testing thereafter.
- Possession of a current and valid DOT medical certificate.
- Completion of a criminal background check and safety performance verification.
- A valid driver's license is preferred.
- A strong commitment to safety is essential.
