Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate-School Counselor OR
  • Licensed Professional Counselor- LPC/ or Licensed Master Social Worker- LMSW

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience with demonstrated student success as measured by district standards (e.g., STAAR, District Benchmarks, Curriculum Assessments, etc.).

Special Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in school safety, crisis intervention, and behavior management
  • Ability to plan and provide small group intervention for students identified as at-risk
  • Assist teachers in working with at-risk students
  • Compile, maintain, and file reports and records of programs
  • Coordinate, implement, and monitor at-risk programs
  • Ability to analyze campus data
  • Demonstrated leadership skills at the campus level
  • Serve as a resource for classroom teachers with strategies, plans, and materials
  • Provide staff development on campus
