Description
GENERAL SUMMARY
This position of Regional Manager (RM) is responsible for developing sales in the Industrial MRO, Construction, and Material Handling markets through a combination of activities that includes working with current and developing new distribution, direct end-user sales calls, and following up on project sales leads.
· Develop knowledge of complete Garlock Safety Systems product line
· Provide site assessments and product recommendations as required
· Develops working relationships and grows sales with Safety Consultants and other key influencers
Travel to attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as required.
· Meet annual territory top-lines sales and performance objectives
· Identify and sign new distribution while improving the knowledge and selling capabilities of distributor reps within the assigned territory
· Function as the key interface between Safety Systems and our end customer prospects and distribution within the assigned territory
· Handle customer complaints balancing customer satisfaction objectives with profit plan objectives
· Collaborate with product development and recommend new product line initiatives based on customer needs
Track competitor activity of assigned customers.
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from accredited college or university; and five years related industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and trade journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to interact with coworkers verbally and via email to resolve questions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts of addition, subtraction, and percentages.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver’s License issued from state of residence
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Must possess aptitude for learning and using business software including Customer Relationship Management (Sugar CRM/Modus) system, Outlook, and MS Office.
Travel is required to customer sites and frequently conducts product demonstrations on job sites.
Must live in the West Coast region to be considered.
