The Membership & Volunteer Coordinator will manage WSGE’s membership program, oversee WSGE’s volunteer programs and serve as On-Air Announcer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MEMBER SERVICES
Communicate with WSGE members in a timely and efficient manner on a regular basis.
Assist with planning and implementation of WSGE’s Annual Membership Drives.
Secure donated items and oversee delivery to contributing members.
Maintain and monitor records in donor management software.
Coordinate and assist in the preparation of fund-raising related materials.
Create monthly membership / programming e-newsletter, as well as other digital communication on website & social media.
Develop donor retention strategies.
Manage purchasing relative to the Membership program as needed.
VOLUNTEER COORDINATION
Manage scheduling of WSGE’s volunteer staff and coordinate with WSGE staff to ensure on air shifts are fulfilled.
Seek opportunities to promote volunteer opportunities in the community.
Maintain volunteer database and hours log.
Assist in recruitment and training of volunteers for both on and off air duties including announcing, membership drives, street teams and administrative.
Prepare codes of conduct and operating procedures to uphold the WSGE’s programming initiatives.
ON AIR DUTIES
Follow designated show format.
Review and implement daily music playlist.
Operate audio board efficiently, including making necessary stop breaks and timely announcements, including underwriting and promotional liners.
Engage with listeners.
Respond to social media interactions.
Assist in voicing production copy.
Assist in training volunteer staff.
Maintain compliance with FCC regulations at all times, including awareness of prohibited language on-air.
Assist with live promotional events.
Maintain a high standard of professionalism in representing WSGE and Gaston College, including confidentiality in all aspects of the position's responsibilities and adherence to policies, procedures, and other established guidelines.
Additional tasks relative to administrative services of the station may be required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s Degree preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
At least 3-years’ experience as an on-air deejay and / or radio production required.
Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Ability to work evenings and weekends required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Generally works in a traditional climate controlled office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods.
Some walking, standing, and bending required, with the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Work environment can be stressful at times in dealing with a wide variety of challenges and deadlines.
In addition to regular office hours, position sometimes requires overtime and / or evening hours.
