Here are some of the duties you will be responsible for:
- Under the general direction of the Imaging Manager, with the clinical supervision of the Radiologist, perform examinations of patients of ages 16 or above for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of patient illness.
- Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of ultrasound scanners. Position patients for ultrasound using patient positioning methods and protective equipment as necessary.
- Performs ultrasound imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site Radiologist.
- Completes and signs Patient Screening form and explains the procedure to the patient.
- Maintains patient care, comfort, and safety during transport to and from the exam table and during the exam.
- Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs.
- Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures.
- Maintains current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed.
- Provide images to the facility and patient in the desired site format.
- Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members.
- May assist with the set up and tear down of equipment in accordance with SMS and/or manufacturers guidelines.
- Maintains a clean environment in the exam and control rooms
- Completes necessary administrative tasks. i.e.: timesheet, medical records request, review supply inventory, request supplies from Manager, organize supplies upon arrival, QA, etc.
- Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Complies with all safety policies and regulations.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- 3 years of experience with abdomen and pelvic ultrasounds
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Must be registered with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Graduate of an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program
- Ultrasound Tech experience required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- GI experience desired
