Job Posting for Medical Receptionist/Call Center at Gastroenterology Associates of Fredericksburg
This position is responsible for delivering exceptional service to patients, family members, physicians’ offices and others seeking to contact the office by telephone. This position is also responsible for scheduling patient appointments and obtaining accurate demographic and insurance information.
Key responsibilities include:
Interfaces with patients, family members, physicians, visitors, and other callers in a courteous and professional manner, presenting a positive public image for the practice as well as setting a comfort level for the patients.
Triages patient calls in an efficient manner, according to established guidelines.
Takes complete and accurate messages when required. Forwards to appropriate party.
Retrieves and responds to messages in a timely manner.
Registers patients in the Practice Management Information System (PMIS), obtaining and/or verifying all relevant demographic and insurance information to ensure the timely and accurate processing of claims.
Schedules appointments for office visits according to established guidelines.
Call patients to cancel/reschedule appointments as required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent organizational skill and attention to detail. Must be able to learn scheduling and other protocols and effectively retain information to ensure guidelines are followed consistently.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
