Snapshot of Daily Duties
Routine follow-up visits in the office.
Urgent follow-up visits in the office.
Urgent and provider requested consults and new patient visits.
G-tube changes.
Hemorrhoid banding (after training).
Large volume paracentesis (as permitted).
Communicate patient care activities to the physician (visit notes/test results).
Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
Order appropriate medication, laboratory, and diagnostic procedures.
Administer medications and injections.
Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation.
Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
Perform a physical exam and records findings.
The Must Haves
Registered Nursing license as well as degree level required by each state to obtain NP license.
Graduate of an accredited program and board certified with prescriptive authority.
Strong interpersonal skills are a must, knowledge of billing services is required, understands the various responsibilities physician/NP/Patient relationship.
Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program with certification by a national Nurse Practitioner certification board.
Three (3) years professional nursing experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
