SUMMARY
The Accountant is an integral part of the Finance Department and is responsible, under the supervision of the Controller for reporting, analyzing, and interpreting accounting information. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to, payroll, maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and Excel spreadsheets, posting cash receipts, preparation of transaction journal entries, credit card expense reconciliation, bank reconciliation, monthly financial report preparation, and analytical review of accounts, and support processing payables. The accountant will require the utmost attention to detail to ensure accuracy, can work in a faced pace environment with multiple entities, and work diligently to meet deadlines and produce timely financial reports that are compliant with GAAP accounting.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 2years related hands-on accounting experience preferred
- Working knowledge of accounting procedures and GAAP
- Proficient in QuickBooks Software, MS Office Excel; creating and maintaining complex spreadsheets
- Strong analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities to meet hard deadlines
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities
- Strong communication skills
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process Payroll for multiple entities.
- Automate financial reports to maximize productivity.
- Perform reconciliations and detailed account analysis of general ledger accounts to ensure they properly reflect the company’s financial position.
- Assist in ensuring that the company’s revenues and expenses are correctly reported and classified.
- Analyze financial reports and possess the ability to identify and interpret business trends using financial data.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end financial statements and variance analysis.
- Assist with preparing audit schedules during the year-end close.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts.
- Prepare/review and post journal and accrual entries, ensuring records comply with GAAP.
- Assist and backup to weekly accounts payable processing, disbursements, and printing of checks for multiple entities.
- Analyze and reconcile bank transactions to recorded transactions in the general ledger.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to sub-ledgers.
- Understand paperless environment which requires scanning documents/ invoices to proper folder ensuring accuracy and conformance to established accounting procedures.
- Perform other related accounting tasks as assigned by management.
