Production Laborer -Pouring
Department: Pouring
Job Summary:
We are seeking a production laborer to join our team! Production laborer performs all general laborer construction type duties in the fabrication process to produce small and large concrete products. (Examples: concrete panels, facades, desks, countertops, stair treads).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sets up, cleans and prepares production bed for pouring concrete.
Assists in pouring, spreading concrete; operates vibrators; smooths and finishes concrete surfaces with trowels, brooms & rakes.
Assists in gathering the ingredients for the pour.
Maintains good housekeeping and follows Gate Precast - DEX by Gate safety policies and procedures at all times.
Performs additional duties as requested or required.
Schedule is Monday - Friday 7AM - 3:45PM. Overtime maybe required and occasional Saturdays.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Previous experience in concrete a plus but not required.
Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
Ability to prioritize and multitask.
Ability to work as a team player and communicate effectively.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, twist, walk, must be able to use various hand tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb and stoop, kneel, squat, and crouch or crawl. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Constant and continual medium to heavy manual, physical labor is required for this position.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
Precast/construction experience preferred, but not required.
Forklift Certified a plus, but not required.
On-the-job training offered.
Work Environment:
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as, but not limited to, work boots, work gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection. This is an indoor/outdoor work environment: Exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, water and dust.
