Analyst
Gate One Group, LLC is a management consulting and mergers and acquisition advisory firm with a primary focus on the payments industry. We have positions open for Analysts.
Our principal specialty is the payments industry (e.g., credit cards, debit cards, digital payments including P2P, Buy Now Pay Later, cryptocurrencies, and digital forms of traditional payment types) in which we advise clients on strategic decisions such as new partnerships or products and decisions to acquire or divest businesses or assets. Our client base is primarily in North America and includes leading companies in the financial services, retail, travel, technology, manufacturing, and consumer goods industries. The company is located in Annapolis, MD.
Analysts are provided the opportunity to play meaningful roles on client engagements in a challenging and fast-paced work environment. Analysts are typically members of every client engagement team with responsibility for completing a wide range of quantitative, qualitative, and competitive analysis. Analysts will be rapidly integrated into our firm where they can develop specialized experience and contribute to client engagements and business development efforts of the firm.
Analyst responsibilities include:
- Conducting quantitative, financial and strategic analysis;
- Conducting research and data collection;
- Solving strategic business problems.
The Analyst position demands high energy and creativity. Given work is generally conducted in a team environment, the size and scope of projects will dictate staffing, which will involve working with senior team members, including one or more Partners. The duration of projects varies from two to ten months and Analysts have the opportunity to be staffed on multiple assignments with staggered deadlines. Depending on COVID conditions, travel can be incorporated into project plans and includes, for some of our engagements, international travel (primarily to Canada).
The successful candidate for an Analyst position will have the following qualifications:
- Zero to three years of related work experience in an analytically-focused position;
- A Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline such as finance or economics, with a record of superior academic performance;
- Excellent problem solving and quantitative skills;
- Strong research skills with the ability to distill findings into case study presentations and briefings to clients;
- Strong communication and writing skills including experience in developing summary presentations;
- Experience developing detailed financial models (utilizing Excel and SQL and Visual Basic therein);
- Experience with statistical analysis packages (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R, etc.);
- Solid understanding of basic finance concepts such as net present value and discounted cash flow analysis; and
- Ability to take initiative and work in a deadline-driven environment.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
