Description: The Maintenance Technician will perform preventative maintenance and repairs as scheduled or required in order to attain maximum productivity and functionality in plant operations. The employee in this role must have strong communication, observational, and operational skills with an unbending focus on safety. A very important part is the repair of production equipment from complex hydraulic equipment to simple fabrication machinery, performing mechanical work. The maintenance technician repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment using hand tools, power tools, precision-measuring and testing instruments.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prior experience diagnosing mechanical and electronic systems using various tools and computers is a plus.
Prior experience troubleshooting, repairing equipment is a plus.
Assist fellow mechanics and technicians as required to perform Preventative Maintenance and work overloads to assure equipment maintenance requirements are performed on a timely basis.
Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
Dismantle defective machines, equipment and install new or repaired parts.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other machinery parts.
Ability to work any shift including weekends.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for 8 hours and bend at the waist.
Desired Skills:
Ability to present his/her views in a clear and compelling manner.
Constant reminder of safety in all aspects of operations.
Average working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Education:
High School Diploma, Technical Certification, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
