Gateway Rehab Centers has an immediate need for PRN Counselor Technician located in Beaver County, PA. You will facilitate programming and assure the integrity of the therapeutic milieu. This position requires mandatory staffing coverage when necessary to provide a safe treatment environment for Gateway residents. Responsibilities:
- Facilitates discussion groups and activities.
- Monitors patient behavior.
- Conducts handbook orientation.
- Assists patients in completion of patient assessment forms.
- Assists with phone calls to family members/friends and referral sources.
- Assists with crises intervention.
- Transports patients to meetings.
- Documents involvement with patients in progress notes.
- Collects urine and completes paperwork for drug screening as necessary.
- Provides post-discharge contacts/referrals under therapist direction.
- Completes intake paperwork as needed.
- Attends mandatory GRC trainings and in-services.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of 12 step programs and/or addictions preferred.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some college
Other Requirements:
- Pass PA Criminal Background Check
- Obtain Child Abuse and FBI clearances
- Valid driver's license and favorable driving record.
Work Conditions:
- Favorable working conditions.
- Required to remain awake and alert while on duty.
- Minimal physical demand.
- Moderate mental demands to respond to patients' simultaneous requests.
