We are currently looking for a Nurse Supervisor for our Gateway Alliquippa location.
Job Summary: This position provides administrative oversight and supervision of the Nursing staff and services and provides direct nursing care to Gateway patients.

Essential Functions:
- Oversees nursing activities of shift.
- Completes and documents assessments, nursing diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Provides and documents direct patient care.
- Develops, implements and evaluates patient health education.
- Intervenes in crises and other emergency situations and provides admission phone triage.
- Provides supervision and direction to RNs and
- Completes performance evaluations and competencies on supervisees in a timely manner.
- Coordinates orientation and training for newly hired nurses.
- Plans, implements and evaluates staff development/education activities for Nursing staff.
- Fosters an environment of courteous, patient-focused care.
- Determines appropriate nurse staffing needs and prepares Nursing staff work schedules.
- Consults with Clinical Specialists and Evaluators regarding admissions issues.
- Assures Nursing services are compliant with The Joint Commission, Department of Health, Department of Welfare, ACA standards and other regulatory bodies.
- Assists with development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures for Nursing services.
- Sets expectations and productivity measures, develops plans and implements procedures to continually assess and improve the quality of the Nursing services.
- Intervenes and documents appropriately when an employee demonstrates poor work performance.
- Develops, implements and evaluates Gateway’s employee health program.
- Participates as a member of the Detox department management team.
- Coordinates and communicates with other departments as appropriate.
- Coordinates and schedules Gateway Aliquippa staff physician and physician assistant services.
- Coordinates and schedules laboratory services provided at Gateway Aliquippa.
- Coordinates pharmaceutical services provided at Gateway Aliquippa.
- Participates in inter-disciplinary team conferences, intakes and transfers.
- Works evening and weekend hours as needed.
- Provides on-call coverage for the Nursing staff.
- Shares responsibility for other duties; such as, include Infection Control, Incident Reports, Quality Improvement Auditing and/or Inventory, or other responsibilities.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned.
Qualifying Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Pennsylvania RN licensure required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- One year experience in acute care nursing preferred.
- Experience in the mental health and drug and alcohol field preferred.
- Strong computer skills preferred.
