What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk (ER) position at GATR Truck Center?

We are your three- time Volvo Dealer of the Year and we currently have five locations throughout Minnesota and Iowa to service our customers. We are looking for another Shipping and Receiving clerk to join our Elk River team
Primary duties will consist of but not be limited to:
- Maintain good appearance of shipping and receiving area
- Check in incoming orders accurately
- Post incoming orders accurately
- Be aware of shortages and overages on incoming orders and notify the Inventory Control person of any discrepancies
- Be aware of part number changes and have the new number created or crossed before posting.
- File all packing slips or invoices in the proper locations
- Notify Assistant manager or Manager of any building repair needs/concerns
- Stock incoming parts in containers and body shop storage areas
- Safe operation of forklift to move product on the various parts of the GATR grounds
- Greet and treat delivery service/trucking personnel courteously
- Maintain a clean and orderly appearance
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned
- Adherence to GATR Policies and Procedures, Safety Guidelines, Environmental Regulations, Equipment Rules, and other applicable regulations.
Qualifications
High School diploma or the equivalent. Ability to comprehend instructions and information. Professional personal appearance. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Basic computer skills. Forklift operation certification
Working Conditions
Position requires safe forklift operation. Position requires sitting, stooping, bending, standing and moving throughout the facility and grounds. Lifting requirements can typically be 50 pounds, with occasion to be 75 pounds plus. Work inside and outside with different weather conditions. Person will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Person will be required to wear dealership provided uniform shirts at all times. Only approved dealership caps and jackets will be worn.
