At GBC, we provide center-based, in-home, and in-school ABA therapy to children with autism in Illinois and Michigan. Our awe-inspiring leadership team has worked for years together building GBC from the ground up and putting an emphasis on providing therapy to families with integrity, while also ensuring that GBC is a great place to work for everyone on the team!
As a Behavior Technician, you work one-on-one with kiddos with autism in their homes or our clinic. You will help your patient develop new skills like communicating, playing and developing age appropriate skills to help them lead the most fulfilling and independent lives as possible, all while having a BALL!
This is an entry level position with training provided! GBC has a commitment to ensure that every behavior technician that walks through the door feels supported and confident from day one. We also pay for all of the costs for you to get your RBT credential. In fact, you will become an RBT within your first THREE months of employment, propelling you up the ladder off the bat! All we need from you? The ability to have fun, learn, and have a desire to grow!
Tentative Schedule:
Wednesday and Friday 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Saturday 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

What does a BT/RBT Do?
- Provide fun and nurturing instruction one on one, to children with autism to help with goals like making friends, playing, communicating, and more.
- Implement a structured program to help decrease and de-escalate behaviors
- Must be comfortable potentially assisting patients with activities of daily living such as changing diapers, assisting patients on the toilet, and helping with showering.
- Collect data during patient appointments using CentralReach.
- Communicate effectively with your BCBA supervisor.
- Reliable to follow a weekly schedule for each assigned patient.
- Commit to at least 6 months of service for each patient.
- Support spreading the word about GBC and what we do to help us reach as many families as possible by sharing job postings, events, and coming to community events.
What We’re Looking For:
- Reliable means of transportation.
- High School Diploma (or Equivalent).
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Be able to perform tasks such as running, crawling, stooping, etc. and occasionally lifting 50 pounds or less.
- Must be able to work on-site and comfortable working in both settings (in-home and in-clinic).
- Must be able to speak and write English fluently for session notes that will be filled out at the end appointments
Previous/Relevant Experience:
This position would be well-suited for those who:
- Are currently pursuing a psychology degree or a similar field of study such as sociology, kinesiology, divinity, physical therapy, etc.
- Have an energetic, creative, and fun personality.
- Are creative thinkers and are involved in theatre, art, or band.
- Have volunteer experience
- Have experience as a paraprofessional or special education teacher
- Have previously worked as a teacher's assistant or lead teacher
- Those in any type of helping profession
- Can let loose, be creative, and have fun while playing with children

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 13 per week
