EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Reports maintenance and repairs needed to management Operates graders for leveling. Operates front-end loaders as required. Operates excavators as required.                                                                                                      Operates water trucks as required. Operates various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping and related assignments. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Will maintain a safe working environment, adhere to safety policies and practices, perform daily housekeeping of assigned area, perform daily workplace inspections, adhere to plant policies and proper use of plant radios. Should be familiar or willing to be trained on MSHA safety rules, safety procedures for plant mobile equipment, lockout/tagout policy, confined spaces policy, hot work policy, lubricants, paints/solvents and other environmentally sensitive materials. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, vendors and visitors. Will work where and when needed as directed by plant supervisor to meet plant needs. Experience and abilities you will need:  Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Basic math and computer skills Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to operate heavy equipment. Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels. Task training required for each type of equipment operated. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
