What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Construction Observation position at GCG Associates, Inc.?
GCG Associates is currently seeking an experienced Clerk of works with 10 years of professional experience in construction observation of civil engineering municipal infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in water, sewer, drainage, and roadway construction projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Observes all phases of construction activities for compliance with design documents and client standards
- Monitor contractor’s activities with respect to conformance to design specifications, plans and contractual requirements
- Oversees the measurement and payment of contractor’s quantities of work performed
- Documents observations, non-compliance and corrective/preventative actions
- Act as on-site liaison between municipal client, company personnel and contractor to resolve project issues
- Coordinates work with the contractor and municipality
- Reviews contractor’s payment requisitions
- Prepares daily construction reports and attends progress meetings
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Use basic hand tools
- Travel across rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces
- Lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds
- Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements
- Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time
- Must have a valid driver's license
