Description
SUMMARY
The Buyer-Planner is responsible for the coordination, quality, on-time delivery, pricing, and source selection for all products and services procured at GCM. The Buyer-Planner assumes full responsibility for planning requirements and supply chain management to ensure timely deliveries of goods within budget.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Purchases materials or other goods and/or coordinates activities involved with procuring products and services, such as raw materials, parts, supplies, and outside services, for GCM
- Plans, schedules, and monitors Jobs and Purchase Orders to meet the production requirements of the company
- Reviews completed work orders for accuracy prior to job closing
- Receives and reviews requisitions requesting goods or services
- Interviews and confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
- Develops and maintains approved supplier list (ASL)
- Assures that suppliers have and maintain the ability to meet our quality demands
- Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining capabilities
- Expedites orders and requests as needed
- Estimates values according to knowledge of market price
- Prepares purchase orders or quote requests
- Reviews supplier quotes and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
- Maintains procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
- May work with manufacturers or persuade potential suppliers to undertake the manufacturing of custom-designed items according to user's specific needs and specifications
- Works with receiving, finance and suppliers to reconcile discrepancies in receiving and invoicing
- May expedite delivery of goods to manufacturing team
- Develop and maintain supplier score cards (quality lot acceptance and on time delivery).

- On time delivery target at 99%
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements
REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent industry buying and procurement training/experience
- Minimum of 3 – 10 years of progressive work experience
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office software, Outlook/Excel/Word, and industry related ERP experience
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written form

Salary : $48,600 - $61,500
