The Director of OEM Sourcing will develop a strategic approach to OEM products with the supplier base and develop a strategy focused on developing long term relationships with OEM suppliers, cost containment and reduction, and evaluating alternate suppliers.
- The OEM products encompassed by this position are bearings, encoders, various mechanical assemblies, motors, and other OEM components.
This position will also work with the Engineering team on selecting OEM products as needed.
- This position requires active supplier management, advanced negotiation skills and development of processes to improve OEM sourcing strategy.
- Applicants for this position must be excited about working in a fast paced start-up type environment with opportunities to direct supply chain strategy in the coming years.
This position will have the following responsibilities:
- Develop sourcing strategy for OEM parts to include existing and new suppliers, both locally and globally
- Actively manage OEM suppliers, including continued cost negotiations
- Work with Engineering team for NPI project OEM part sourcing
- Manage cost down road maps for OEM products
Skills and Experience Required:
- Expert negotiation skills
- Experience developing an OEM supply base
- Experience developing a global supply chain
- Experience with managing cost and cost-down activities
- Familiarity with the needs of NPI projects
- Outstanding communication and analytical skills
- Strong presentation skills, including the ability to create and present compelling proposals to the suppliers, and to communicate to senior management
- Experience working with shifting priorities and moving deadlines
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Experience with MRP systems - including creating and presenting proposals to senior management and our suppliers
Education Required: - Bachelor’s Degree required
