Type of Requisition: Regular Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: Secret Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: Secret Suitability: Public Trust/Other Required: Job Family: SCA Job Qualifications: Skills: Antennas, Equipment Testing, Radio Frequency (RF) Certifications: Experience: 15 years of related experience US Citizenship Required: Yes Job Description: Engineering Technician VI Duties and Responsibility- GDIT RFTF Test Technician Support the government project lead to meet the needs of the Radio Frequency Test Facility (RFTF) as part of Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic’s (NIWC) Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) program. Plan, execute, and report on RFTF test and evaluation events. Assist with a broad range of site maintenance tasks. Maintain an active Secret clearance. Maintain Communications Security (COMSEC) handling and training requirements. Complete annual mandatory training as required. Level of Experience: Engineering Technician VI Education: Technical Training in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) which involves testing/engineering services for various Navy C4ISR systems. Experience: 15 years of hands-on experience within the E3 field, to include areas of: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Data Analysis, and Test & Evaluation. Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry knowledge and leadership in E3. Antenna Testing 2D Antenna, 3D Antenna, and Antenna Isolation (Co-site) Assist in the performance of a 2D, 3D, Co-site antenna instrumented test. Make recommendations for conducting the test using an approved test plan in accordance with (IAW) IEEE 149 Standard Test Procedures for Antennas. Make recommendations on potential problems identified. Assist in antenna test data recording and preparation for reporting. Review and make recommendations on the final test report. Communications Testing Assist in the performance of communications test at the Radio Frequency Test Facility or other facilities as determined by 59130 Service Center COR. Make recommendations for conducting the test using an approved test plan in accordance with IAW MILSTD-188C Military Communications System Technical Standards. Make recommendations on potential problems identified. Assist in communication test data recording and preparation for reporting. Review and make recommendations on the final test report. Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Testing Assist in the performance of an EMC-Site Antenna instrumented test IAW MIL-STD 464. Make recommendations for conducting the test using an approved test plan. Make recommendations on potential problems identified. Assist in antenna test data recording and preparation for reporting. Review and make recommendations on the final test report. RADHAZ Testing – Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Personnel, Ordnance and Fuel (HERO, HERP, HERF) Assist in the performance of a RADHAZ testing IAW NAVSEA OP 3565/NAVAIR 16-1-529 Volume 1/2 at the Radio Frequency Test Facility or other facilities as determined by 59130 Service Center COR. Make recommendations for conducting the test using an approved test plan. Assist in determination of RADHAZ safe separation distances. Make recommendations on potential problems identified. Assist in RADHAZ test data recording in preparation for reporting. Review and make recommendations on the final test report. RFTF Site Maintenance Assist with required monitoring of all equipment for proper operation. When directed by the GDIT Program Manager assist other GDIT maintenance personnel with maintaining all elements of the RFTF to include Preventive maintenance for the Vehicle Turn Table (VTT), Antenna Turn Table (ATT), Composite Antenna Turn Table (CATT), power distribution, RF distribution, power pads, site security camera systems, antennas, site lighting, habitability, and storage structures.
