Job Description Summary

The Evaluation Engine Owner manages development engine(s) through hardware instrumentation, engine assembly, site integration, & test execution. The Eval Engine Owner is the conduit for all engine and test requirements. Leverages multiple tools to define scope definition from the customer and engages the doing organizations. Creates and maintains engine schedules to track the execution of the engine program. Work inclusively and horizontally with Development Assembly, Instrumentation, Design Engineering disciplines, and Test Sites. Possess strong communications and leadership skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for execution of laboratory and field validation testing, inspection and data acquisition for use in the design and validation of products and services. Responsible for design and construction of test facilities, instrumentation systems and the development of test software
• Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
• Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
• Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications

• For roles outside of the USA- This role requires advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Testing. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
• For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Design Engineering).
• 10% travel is required.
• This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
