Job Description Summary
A Grind Engineer for Assembly Special Process Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes within the Assembly Engineering Organization. In this role you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve technical problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, communicate regularly and effectively to leadership, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. The role focuses on supporting Assembly Grind processes for GE Aviation production and overhaul engine assembly facilities around the world through best practice development and leveraging.Job Description
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Solid understanding CNC programing and how they are integrated with PC user interfaces
- Familiar with grind tooling design and best practices
- Understanding of machine components and have the ability to trouble shoot grind machines, lasers and touch probe systems
- Knowledge of grind wheel specifications (types and applications), diamond dresser specifications and coolant applications
- Strong understanding with how engine hardware is fixtured, chucked or otherwise restrained for grind processes
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Proficient in Data Transfer and retrieval of grind data to/from the servers
Required Qualifications
- For roles outside of the USA- This role requires advanced experience in the Manufacturing & Production Process and Equipment. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
- For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
