Job Description Summary
The Global Logistics Organization (GLO) is looking for a highly motivated, self-starting individual with a solid environmental, health and safety background. The role will report directly to the Global Logistics executive and work closely with the the Global Logistics Organization (GLO) staff to (1) build/ execute an EHS strategy focused on a zero hurt culture and (2) drive programs that ensure federal, state, and local EHS regulatory and GE management system requirements are met. The scope will encompass Erlanger Distribution, Lynn Flight Support Center, CPLC Small Parts Distribution (3rd Party), Commercial and Military pack shops (3rd Party), Amsterdam Cross dock facility and Global Transportation providers.Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an EHS risk ranked strategic plan to yield best in class EHS performance.
- Drive GE Aerospace's standard EHS framework across the sites.
- Build rotation schedule and implement EHS driven cross site auditsws.
- Strengthen collaboration across the sites, sharing of best practices and read across.
- Proactively locate and implement countermeasures where potential failure modes exist within processes.
- Apply the fundamentals of Lean (FLIGHT DECK) as applied across EHS to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coach and develop site EHS team members to identify growth opportunities and meet career goals
- Accountable for EHS KPIs and the implementation of problem solving in accordance with policy
- Bring not invented here ideas to the org via benchmarking GE sites and the industry
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years EHS experience) minimum of 5 years EHS experience
Desired Characteristics
- At least 3 years manufacturing and/or industrial environment experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in safety and environmental management (or similar)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Designation
- Multi location/ multi plant oversight experience.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers comp, VPP and trainings
- Proven track record for implementing positive change in ergonomics
- Self-starter with ability to build a vision and execute
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Solid team building, cross functional and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems
- Proven track record for meeting customer / business needs
- Executive level presentation skills
- Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn
- Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively
- Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed
- Ability to travel as required (10-20%)
