The Lead Commodity Management Specialist is responsible for the sourcing of a group of commodities/sourcing projects for USA and North American region; negotiating with dedicated providers according to specific policies; achieving the best contractual conditions and ensuring internal customer satisfaction; comprehensive in-depth understanding of purchasing and sourcing concepts and principles; and strong knowledge of purchasing concepts in order to help drive supplier performance.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
As the Lead Commodity Management Specialist, you will:
Define supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels focused, but not limited, to cabinets and fabricated parts;
Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers;
Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement;
Manage claims including commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc. and may also include purchasing activities;
Negotiate the best commercial and technical package for procurement requirements;
Work with allocated key suppliers to improve On Time Delivery and Quality statistics to target levels;
Communicate across direct organization;
Present to senior leaders (EB and SEB) in specific purchasing space and on cross functional teams on how purchasing contributes to overall strategy;
Assist in the continuous development of the Procurement function towards best practice;
Identify and deliver value-adding opportunities from the supply chain;
Advise Functional managers or other Functions regarding approaches, processes and procedures in the own field;
Develop technical and regional market expertise in commodity area.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college;
Minimum of 5 years of Sourcing and/or Commodity Management experience in the energy business, specifically with electrical cabinets and fabricated parts;
Availability and willingness to travel up to 10% of time.

Ability to read component blueprints/technical specification and drawings;
Very strong experience with Microsoft Excel;
Notions of SAP.
