Job Description Summary
General Electric (GE) is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Architect to join the Gas Power Security Architecture organization. The candidate will join a team of Architects and work closely with the VP on key business initiatives. The role will largely focus on Cloud and Manufacturing security with strategic and tactical responsibilities in support of overall portfolio migration activities and modernization initiatives.The ideal candidate will have extensive security architecture experience and design background, working with multiple Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). The candidate will also be responsible for communicating strategic security architecture and roadmaps within those domains to the leadership team and broader organization for alignment and execution.
This is a critical and trusted role that will shape our strategy and guide the organization to successfully enable our transformation. The position is challenging and will require a unique combination of Cybersecurity subject matter expertise, business acumen, strategic thinking, communications, leadership, and executive presence for success.
Job Description
In this role, you will provide:
- Develop and promote security architecture strategies, frameworks and patterns collaborating with partner organizations.
- Workload security assessments and recommendations aligned to portfolio migration initiatives.
- Executive communications for Cloud and Manufacturing strategy.
- Identify and publish metrics that quantifies work accomplished and security posture improvements.
- Technical and innovative thought leadership for our Cybersecurity organization.
- Contributes to and actively supports the Security Review Board through published security patterns and reference architectures for standard work.
- Validates infrastructure and other reference architectures for security leading practice, recommending change to enhance security and reduce risk where appropriate.
- Coordinates with appropriate governance, risk, and compliance teams to recommend controls to ensure data and IP is protected.
Education Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) AND a minimum of 10 years of Cyber Architecture experience.
Desired Characteristics
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, or other technical discipline.
- Leadership program (DTLP) graduate and/or Audit Staff experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Cyber frameworks; NIST, ISO, EC and GDPR.
- Experience developing a multi-year vision, strategy, and roadmap for large-scale organizations.
- Cloud security architecture experience, including certification(s).
- CISSP/CISM/CISA certification.
- Strong oral and written communication skills – able to communicate appropriately to technical and management audiences.
- Experience in large global environments spanning multiple time zones.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Comfortable and effective working in new areas that require rapid problem solving and continuous learning.
- Creative problem solver with strong analytical skills.
