Job Description Summary
Executive leadership role responsible for developing the vision and strategy and for driving operational excellence and continuous improvement for the Gas Power New Units Projects Execution organization. This leader is responsible for all aspects of the project management internal wing-to-wing processes and will oversee the following teams: Projects Fulfillment, Cost-out and Planning and Scheduling teams. Tasked to build standard work around processes, governance, and better the forecasting of projects cost with a strong interconnectivity across all poles and functions. This leader will have a focus around risk assessment while leveraging best practices across poles and minimizing variance in execution, as well as creating standards for project launch from ITO to OTR managing cost, scope change and proactively mitigate deviations. This position is a member of the global Projects Execution leadership team and is a critical partner for the Poles, as well as an integrator for horizontal execution to drive Gas Power’s mission towards improving projects margin, delivering on cost-out plans and creating a simpler, more connected way to work.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Accountable and responsible for the execution excellence of all GE NU Projects globally, with focus on internal project management, project controls, cost management , and project scheduling
- Problem solve execution issues and provide guidance and high level direction to address them
- Participate in SLT meetings and monthly project portfolio reviews
- Conduct Internal alignment meetings with projects and functions groups
- Advocate of the project execution excellence
- Participate in proposal reviews and provide input on internal execution challenges and costs
- Own lessons learnt from past experiences across the projects globally and create internal benchmarks
- Set staffing requirements for each project on internal project management, project controls, cost management, and project scheduling
- Optimize utilization of resources across the regions
- Have a long-term/forward looking view on staffing needs / requirements (incl. backlogs future projects)
- Conduct weekly staffing meetings with the department head
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, standard work, and daily management in all aspects of team activities by embracing Lean Thinking
- Create a highly collaborative culture, which encourages effective partnership across functional and geographic boundaries to deliver on business imperatives
- Foster a culture of quality and compliance rooted in personal accountability and team performance
- Develop, coach and Senior Staff and execution teams, setting measurable goals and objectives to evaluate success
- Assess all the tools requirements for project execution and identify key gaps and improvement/automation opportunities
- Ensure the tools are integrated and used consistently across the projects and across the regions
- Design objective evaluations and performance reviews that are consistent across the board
Qualifications/Requirements
- BSc Degree with proven leadership in operations or supply chain, logistics or engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
- Proven Project Execution acumen, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, solve complex problems, and drive change at all levels of the organization.
- Significant years of proven experience working in the Power industry
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, able to mobilize teams to achieve goals
- Proven mentoring and coaching abilities, demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others
- Inclusive leadership: Energizing others by building a connection with the team through personal involvement & trust and by providing feedback & coaching to help develop others
