Essential Responsibilities:
• Maintains a safe, organized, and efficient work area
• Performs “water spider” duties to support replenishment of shop supplies by:
• Gathering empty bins across entire the shop (includes office, break room supplies) according to a set schedule
• Places orders with suppliers for supplies
• Receives orders and performs system transactions
• Replenishes supplies in central stock as well as point of use locations
• Collaborates with material Associate to continuously improve the 2-bin system
• Proactively assists with 6S, continuous improvement and Lean activities
• Coordinate adjustment to bin reorder quantities with Material Associate based on forward looking consumption
• Verifies inventory by comparing physical counts of stock to planned level and investigates discrepancies or adjust errors
• Determines proper storage methods at centra stock and point of use locations, collaborating with the manufacturing teams
• Marks stock items using various identification methods (e.g. tags, labeling)
• Examines and inspects stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage
• Provides support to stockroom team which includes:
• Receipt, shipment and/or stocking of material/finished products, equipment or goods required to support the business
• Pulling parts as requested
• Proactively identifies possible constraints and manages priorities to meet customer requirements
• Performs all inventory support functions as required (e.g. managing material flow; performing cycle counts; executing sales orders; releasing work orders; acting as a liaison between planning, purchasing, and receiving inspection; interfacing with other departments/plants)
Qualifications / Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Basic computer knowledge
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to lift/move material up to 35 pounds.
• May be required to work with hazardous materials.
• Work environment requires standing, walking, climbing, bending, twisting, kneeling, sitting and reaching.
Desired Characteristics:
• Proven experience as a purchasing clerk or similar position
• Knowledge of industry regulations, tariffs, logistics and systems.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Knowledge of Mil-spec and ATA packaging requirements (preferred)
• Familiar with hazardous material handling, shipping, material handling equipment and office equipment
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior experience working in a team-oriented environment
