As the Steam Power Services Cash Flow leader, you will be responsible for leading the cash flow optimization for the Steam Power Services business. This will include setting the global strategy and driving execution in the following areas:
(i) Operational cash flow management in partnership with functional leaders and focused on the direct and indirect cash. This to include determination of cash requirements and maintaining cash flows by type of spend for Services portfolio; setting up operational rigor for cross-functional execution on cash management, and driving working capital and associated metrics.
(ii) Billings, Collections, Past Due management. You will work with the Steam Power Services Billing Global COE and Shared Services / External vendor (Genpact) with regards to invoice to cash processes and metrics with focus on billing linearity and timely cash collection.
(iii) Financials planning and analysis related to Free cash Flow. You will require in-depth understanding of the Steam Power Services industry and businesses, and a strong background in supply chain operations and commercial markets. You will lead core forecasting, planning and reporting cycles relative to cash and drive improvement in working capital analysis and cash conversion metrics.
In addition to formulating and overseeing the executing of cash strategy, the role will include providing solid insights to sources and uses of funds and then collaborating with regional cash, finance, controllership, tax and operational functions to execute the developed strategies and to lead / support ongoing strategic initiatives. Managing GE Vernova relationship, processes, and analysis relative to FCF will be recurring scope.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Global organizational design (incl. definition of roles and responsibilities), process and governance set-up for cash management. Leverage HQ and global cash leaders to achieve Steam Power financial results
- Organize knowledge sharing to convey information about new approaches and best practices in cash management
- Lead global teams working on strategic functional or cross-functional Initiatives, particularly across cash forecasting accuracy, and working capital initiatives.
- Regularly advise Senior leadership on cash performance and levers to improve cash results
- Collaborate with Controllership and FP&A for triangulation of the financial metrics across the financial statements (bridge direct and indirect views, connectivity of cash, balance sheet and income statements). Provide analysis and insights on working capital, projects and services cash, external and intercompany scopes
- Ensure transparency and relevance of IT infra-structures to support the both the Billing/Collection, Disbursement and cash forecasting processes in Steam Power Servi
- Develop and publish key performance indicators (KPIs) to partners and executive management, including Past Due, late Billings, Day to Pay, billing linearity, DSO etc.
- Lead the FP&A reporting and budgeting processes for the GE Steam Power Services Cash Flow statement (e.g., LTS, short term forecasts, earnings prep Q&A)
- Analyze and report on business operating activities, investing activities and financing activities for the purpose of establishing the overall change in cash-flow for a defined period
- Serve as a functional Subject Matter Expert for Cash FP&A processes
- Own planning and analysis for capital expenditures across GE Steam Power Services
- Coordinate Tier2 FP&A Analysts on planning and cash analytics
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree / Master’s Degree from an accredited university or college in a related discipline
- Considerable years of experience in Operational Finance, Controllership, Cash or FP&A
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong technical accounting and working capital management skills
- Previous experience in Cash roles and overseeing multiple financial statements, planning and reporting cycles
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
