Job Description Summary
The Training Compliance Lead is responsible for the development, maintenance and enhancement of technical training procedures/processes for both internal and external training programs, using the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) and following guidance of ACAD 98-004.Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the compliance of GEH training processes/procedures/tools to existing quality requirements and industry standards.
- Ensures all GE training meets government standards and regulatory requirements.
- Represent training in both external and internal audits to ensure accuracy in audit finding along with appropriate corrective actions.
- Lead/support training program reviews to establish priorities and drive plans for continuous improvement
- Develop/support corrective actions to address identified areas for improvement
- Be a subject matter expert for personnel qualification requirements, processes and structure.
- Remain current in personnel training and personnel qualification techniques, tool functionality and related utility programs
- Work with other technical training instructors and personnel to support the management of the training programs and provide strong leadership for assigned programs.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), managers and supervisors, to assess and evaluate training needs and identify appropriate training materials, including performance measures
- Evaluate the effectiveness of Training programs; participate in updates / revisions
- Perform special assignments and other related activities as assigned by the Training Manager/Leader
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the nuclear power industry.
- Minimum of 4 years training experience in the nuclear industry, familiar with nuclear industry standards and training practices.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Willingness to travel to other GE sites as necessary to support training initiatives.
Desired:
- Knowledgeable of, and able to implement, the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
- Knowledgeable of Nuclear quality and technical standards and requirements (e.g. NQA-1, ASME, IAEA, CSA, ISO, CFRs)
- Excellent written and oral technical communication skills including technical English composition, grammar, syntax, formatting, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver training, effectively conveying technical concepts to business, engineering and technical personnel that facilitates learning.
- Demonstrated personal integrity with ability to handle proprietary, confidential, export controlled and complex technical information.
- Organized self-starter, with demonstrated ability to perform under pressure, set priorities, meet tight deadlines and with proven ability to gauge needs and proactively take action without direct supervision.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills, excellent planning, project leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, setting priorities and successfully managing multiple tasks simultaneously with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to operate computer systems, including demonstrated proficiency in the following software applications: MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
- Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) Instructor Certification.
- Knowledge of Nuclear Power Plant technologies; including BWR and/or ABWR.
- 5 years nuclear engineering training experience.
- Experience with Computer Based Training (CBT) development including graphics, illustrations and multi-media training content using current industry approaches, processes, standards and tools.
- Experience in development and implementation of training programs per Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) expectations and ACAD 98-004 or similar.
- Experience using an LMS, training database or Vision software.
The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000 annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
