The USA Transportation Coordinator is the key reference for Avio Aero transports between the United States and the Avio Aero plants in Italy, Poland and Czech Republic. By collaborating with the Transportation Manager he/she takes on the role of the main interface for the suppliers on transport matters, guiding them in what they have to do and in solving the associated matters. Is responsible for coordinating US-EU traffic, making sure that freight forwarders give the proper priority to urgencies. Continuously monitors the freight forwarders performance and ensures that they comply with the established contractual agreements. Identifies and proposes new routes or transport technical solutions in the best interests of the company. Demonstrates leadership in communicating business objectives and uses his experience and expertise to address most profitable options, and to develop and execute business objectives both short and long term.Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
- Supervises the logistics process, guiding the suppliers and the freight forwarders
- Takes on the role of interface between Avio Aero suppliers and plants and works out logistic disconnections
- Identifies the critical aspects of the logistics process and proposes solutions
- Monitors the freight forwarders performance thru suitable KPI’s
- Contributes to control and optimize Logistics costs, by defining and proposing cost reduction projects
- Identifies actions to reduce transportation process variations by applying Six Sigma tools and best practices
- Is engaged in transportation compliance aspects
- Monitors the military export licenses renewal due to the expiration either by validity period or by value exhaustion
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
- 5 plus years’ experience in international Logistics (Proficiency in transportation – air mode)
- 5 plus years’ Experience with Suppliers and/or Customers
- Fluent English and Italian
- Computer skills with intermediate and/or advanced Excel experience
NOTE: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.

- Master’s Degree from an accredited university or college
- Understanding of US Customs
- Understanding of military licenses and USML classifications
- Knowledge of Freight Forwarders and Couriers
- Proficiency in transportation – ocean mode
- Oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
