Job Description
The Welder B-Class position will perform all welding operations as applied to shielded metal arc, submerged arc, plasma arc, gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, and oxygen/acetylene. Performs brazing, soldering and torch cutting operations. Develops and works from less complicated prints and sketches. Performs less difficult work involving layouts and setups. Must be familiar with the use of base metals, filler metals, and alloy selection. Performs liquid dye penetrant tests. May assist and work directly on more complicated and difficult jobs. May direct and train others, performs related duties as assigned.
Your Role:
- Daily tasks for this position upkeep and maintenance of machining equipment and material handling equipment.
- Assist as needed with steam turbine repairs, and services delivered by the shop such as welding, machining with CNC mills, lathes, horizontal boring machines etc. as well as weld repairs and hand working parts.
- Assist as needed with Generator field repair and re-furbishing.
- More complex and complicated tasks will be assigned based on the skill and abilities of the employee giving consideration employee development.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- At least 3 year of experience in welding, machining (conventional or CNC) or technical assembly.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions.
