Warehouse Associate

SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of warehouse duties such as packing and preparing daily orders for UPS pickup, physical inventory counts , product reworks, replenishing stock in picking bins, receiving shipments and assists with unloading truck, labels product cartons as needed, orders warehouse supplies, assists with daily apparel printing, maintains a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse, keeps inventory organized in warehouse. Sweeps and removes trash daily. Breaks down boxes and disposes of them in recycle bins daily.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pack daily orders and prepares them for UPS pick-up.
• Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/equipment to accomplish tasks including but not limited to hand dolly, pick lift and fork lift.
• Receives new inventory and performs quality inspections on both incoming and outgoing materials.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined inventory procedures.
• Conducts physical inventory counts; replenish stock from back-up locations as needed in picking bins.
• Orders warehouse and other office supplies on a as needed basis with supervisor approval.
• Prints apparel orders daily. Alerts Manager of inventory shortages on blanks.
• Labels outside of product cartons as needed.
• Conducts product rework as needed including installing placards, product tabs and regripping.
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment in office and warehouse.
• Participates in quality improvement efforts and works to reduce cost of product shipping.
• Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence requested by management.
• Reports inventory counts as directed by supervisor.
• Flattens and disposes of all boxes at end of day. Assist with waste disposal and clean up. This may include sweeping, dusting, taking out trash and shifting of boxes.
• Assist staff with travel preparation, packing inventory and preparing company bus for travel.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods preferred but not required.
• Fork lift certified preferred
• Experience with use of pallet jack and pick lift preferred
• Must demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

• Knowledge of proper lifting and warehouse safety.
• Enjoys hands, physical warehouse type work.
• Must have strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and perform tasks on time.

PHSYCIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

• Lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance
• Climb a ladder to a height of at least 20 feet
• Walk, bend, squat, twist
• Climb stairs with ease.
• Stand for long periods of time
• Lift and reach overhead
• Position requires finger dexterity and high wrist movement.
• Ability to maintain prolonged hours of physical work including but not limited to lifting, carrying, and shifting boxes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Majority of work time is spent in warehouse where the temperature can be hot or cold. Noise level can be moderate to high due to active loading dock. Dust and debris levels can be moderate to high. On occasion, position will require working outdoors. Position also requires the use of pick lift which can lift user to high levels.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
