Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Dog Handler to join our team. The successful candidate will work with our trained dogs to manage and control geese populations humanely. This role involves outdoor work in various weather conditions, ensuring our clients' properties remain free of geese-related issues.
Qualifications
Strong preference will be given to those with experience in dog handling and/or training, preferably with working or herding breeds
Good understanding of animal behavior and training techniques
Passion for working with dogs
Ability to work independently and make decisions in the field
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Physical fitness to handle outdoor activities in various weather conditions (ability to lift 10’ kayak on and off car roof)
Valid driver's license and clean driving record for 5 years; must spend extended hours driving
Flexibility to work varying hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
Knowledge of humane wildlife management practices is a plus
Key Responsibilities
Handle and house dog specifically for geese control*
Ability handle kayak in ponds and small lakes*
Patrol designated areas with dogs to deter geese populations
Monitor geese activity and implement control measures
Maintain detailed records of geese activity and control efforts
Communicate effectively with clients regarding geese management plans and progress
Ensure the health and well-being of dogs, including feeding, grooming, and veterinary care
Adhere to all safety guidelines and humane treatment protocols
Maintain and transport equipment necessary for geese control activities
Provide regular updates and reports to management
