Position Overview
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the primary responsibility of the Associate Maintenance Mechanic is to perform basic repairs and complete routine work orders with manufacturing equipment in addition to provide detailed supporting documentation to all work performed. At this level, the mechanic is acquiring skills and experience and is not expected to be highly proficient with all job responsibilities. This position will also spend time each week working with the Safety Department to complete equipment LOTO audits & inspections.
Starting wage $22/hr
Job Responsibilities
Assist with preventive (PM), predictive and corrective maintenance activities on all assigned equipment and make recommendations for improvements to ensure productions lines are running at or above required efficiency levels.
Identify and locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems and use the necessary tools to correct and solve maintenance problems.
Assist with routine equipment trial runs to confirm it meets production specifications.
Ensure equipment is returned to its original operating state or seek supervisor approval to make any alternations to equipment.
Report equipment abnormalities and unsafe conditions to Maintenance supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of tools, test equipment and spare parts in order to ensure work resources are ready and available at the time of service request.
Maintain accurate work logs of repairs and equipment modifications including preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to ensure information is available appropriately manage workloads.
Establish strong working partnerships with all staff based on a commitment to teamwork and mutual accountability to limit downtime in order to support production needs.
Maintain assigned work area and production environment in a clean and orderly fashion.
Ensure compliance with Gehl safety standards and with applicable regulatory requirements with following the companys Good Manufacturing Practices.

Minimum Qualifications
High School or Equivalency Diploma
2 or more years experience in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated mechanical skill and technical aptitude
Demonstrated organizational, analytical, detail orientation and observational skills
Flexibility and dependability is required to work overtime, off-shift, weekends, and holidays to support production needs
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to read, write and understand the English language
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Basic to intermediate mathematical abilities
Ability to apply common sense in order to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instruction
Proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and related software, ideally Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, often with limited supervision
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
Preferred Qualifications
1 year of previous maintenance technician experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of aseptic processes, equipment and products
