What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrophysiology - Physician position at Geisinger?
The ideal candidate will be a fellowship trained Electrophysiologist. This individual will be supported by an integrated system-wide team of EP physicians. The Northeast team consists of 3 EP physicians, 5 advanced practitioners, 3 dedicated EP labs, and a full array of cardiology/cardiothoracic surgery services.
This position allows for clinical research and the opportunity to teach CCEP fellows.
Geisinger Heart & Vascular Institute spans a 45-county service area and has over 100 physicians and more than 75 advanced practitioners. This team provides care in 5 acute care tertiary/ quaternary hospitals, 4 community hospitals, and numerous outreach locations. Geisinger Heart & Vascular Institute features multiple accredited chest pain centers, a nationally recognized regional STEMI PCI network, complex arrhythmia ablation, a full range of coronary, vascular and structural heart interventions and an advanced heart failure program.
The multidisciplinary team members of the Geisinger Heart & Vascular Institute participate in outcomes and population-based research through the Geisinger Center for Health Research; molecular, cellular and genomics research at the Siegfried and Janet Weis Center for Health Research; and trials of new drugs, devices and techniques through the Geisinger Center for Clinical Studies. The Institute serves as an educational venue for five cardiology fellows per year and advanced fourth-year cardiology fellows, an annual Cardiology Symposium and frequent CME lectures.
